about

Hi I'm Briana Pharos!

I am a multidisciplinary somatic facilitator, an animist, and a ceremonial artist based in Denver, Colorado.

I help creative people [all over the world] who feel like outsiders understand themselves better so that they can feel more comfortable connecting to what they want, may it be money, love, family, spirituality, creativity, etc.

Multidisciplinary Somatic Facilitator: I have training and experience in multiple disciplines related to the body, movement, and sensory awareness.

Animist: I believe that all things, both animate and inanimate, possess a spiritual essence or life force.

Ceremonial Artist: I create and facilitate ceremonies, rituals, and other symbolic acts that help individuals and communities mark important transitions, honor significant events or emotions, and connect with a sense of meaning and purpose.

Somatic Practices: Focus on the mind-body connection and include breathwork, meditation, movement, mindfulness, and other body-centered approaches.

My Approach

I take a holistic and integrative approach to my work, emphasizing the connection to mind, body, and spirit, as well as our connection to the natural world. Through bridging scientific understanding with spiritual wisdom, I use somatic methods to facilitate personal and social evolution.

Whether in private sessions or retreats, online or in-person, my work creates a space for self-trust and authenticity, free from judgment or expectation.

Each session considers your current situation, past experiences, and future goals.

Together, we will explore modalities such as EFT tapping, hypnosis, coaching, breathwork, movement practices, and creative expression to support you on your journey.

My Story

My journey to becoming a practitioner started with my own healing from trauma.

For years, I strove to prove my worth through productivity and achieving, which led to burnout, unhealthy coping mechanisms, and feeling disconnected from my Self.

It wasn't until I hit a breaking point and faced the discomfort within that my healing journey began.

My authentic Self had been buried under unhealed childhood trauma and toxic generational patterns. As an adult, I had encountered life-draining relationships and deep emotional pain that I did my best to numb.

As I reached my mid 20’s, my burn out peaked and I couldn’t stay numb any longer. Through plant medicine, therapy, somatic modalities, education, elders, mentors and my own lived experiences, I found relief from long-held pain and a deeper connection to my authentic voice and spirituality.

I found the courage to change my life and live more true to myself. It was a journey of self-love, truth and rebirth that I'm still walking each day.

I share this not to claim perfection, but to illustrate that this work comes from a real place of growing stronger through challenges. My training, experience and studies have deepened what started as my own journey of transformation.

At the heart of it all, I'm an imperfect human - I practice ongoing healing, learning and living just as I encourage my clients to do. While deeply passionate about the healing arts, I make no claims of being "completely healed" or having it totally figured out.

This path has taught me that each experience, no matter how dark, holds the power to guide us closer to our purpose and whole, happy selves when approached with courage, community and compassion.

It's a journey I'm honored to walk alongside you.

My career began in beauty and fashion.

I worked full-time as a hairstylist and makeup artist for over 10 years. *Much of that journey is visible on my instagram.

I've always been passionate about using my creativity to help people feel their best.

For most of my 20's, I owned a salon called Oracle and worked in every facet of the beauty industry possible.

During this time, I had the privilege of working behind the scenes and on stage all over the world with some really amazing people! I even won some awards for my artistry.

These experiences have shaped me into the person I am today.

In 2017, constant work began to take its toll, and I began to notice (and did my best to ignore) symptoms of burnout.

In order to fund all the other beauty things I did that were often unpaid or that I paid to participate in, I was working in the salon more than my body could sustain.

*Through experiencing extreme exploitation in the beauty industry, I began to understand the systemic injustices woven into the fabric of our society. This realization fueled my passion for advocacy and ignited my commitment to challenging oppressive systems.

During the height of my burnout,

while on a work trip to Greece, I sought solace at the Oracle of Delphi. There, I made an offering of my hair and asked my ancestors for guidance in shedding the burdens that no longer served my purpose.

After returning home, opportunities to do less and take better care of myself emerged.

As I began to prioritize self-care and establish better boundaries, relationships that were not reciprocal began to fall away. (Though the process was not very fun…)

As I began to say NO, I realized how much I had been doing because I thought it was what I was "supposed" to be doing in order to be successful.

I had been living someone else's version of success…

So over the course of several years, I began to create my own.

I stopped partying, cut out drugs and alcohol, starting eating better, hydrating more, exercising, prioritizing sleep, making more time for friends and family, walking in nature, and RESTING!

My burn out symptoms slowly began to lessen, and I noticed they would flare up anytime I began to lapse in my self care.

I began integrating healing therapies like energy work, plant medicine, body work, yoga, somatic experiencing and more into my self-care practices.

Gaining training and certifications in various modalities from amazing teachers and lineages along the way.

I eventually rebranded my salon business to reflect a more holistic approach to beauty and infused my hair work with energy healing and intentional ritual practices.

in 2018, I stumbled upon breathwork.

I'll never forget my first breathwork experience.

It was mystical, deeply profound, and incredibly healing.

The sensation of my breath moving through my body, unlocking suppressed emotions and releasing tension was something I had never experienced before. At least not without a substance.

I left the session feeling a sense of peace and clarity that I had not felt in years. From that day on, I continued to practice breathwork consistently, and it became an integral part of my self-care routine.

It helped me navigate through difficult times, allowed me to connect with myself on a deeper level, and embody what I'd spent years studying.

It helped me to really understand what it means to "feel your feelings" - not just intellectualize them.

I knew that I had to share this practice with others.

In 2020, I enrolled in a training to become a certified breathwork facilitator and have been sharing the practice with individuals and groups since.

It's been an incredibly rewarding journey, and I feel grateful to be able to share something that has helped me so deeply with others.

These days I serve clients behind a computer screen more than behind the chair, but I still offer Ritual Beauty and traditional hair services one day a week to scratch my hairdresser itch.

My passion lies in exploring the intersection of somatic self-healing and ritual self-care.

My offerings are designed to address the problems of burnout, disconnection, and lack of embodiment that so many of us face in our fast-paced, modern lives.

I approach my work with a trauma-informed lens, acknowledging the impact that past experiences can have on our present and future. By creating a safe and supportive space, I strive to empower you to heal at your own pace and in your own unique way.

Whether through virtual or in-person sessions, group classes, workshops, or retreats, my offerings will help you tap into your own innate wisdom.

I believe that we all have the power to heal ourselves, but sometimes we just need a little guidance and support.

So whether you're looking to address a specific issue or simply wanting to deepen your connection to yourself, I am here to help.

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little bit about my journey and what I offer. I look forward to sharing more from here.

If you have any questions or think we might be a good fit, book a consultation or send me an email.

I hope you will go out and let stories, that is life, happen to you, and that you will work with these stories from your life--not someone else’s life--water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom. That is the work. The only work.
